Heather Trachtenberg represents both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous types of employment litigation, including Title VII, the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Heather also has broad experience counseling employers on employment policies and advising clients on compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulations.
Heather was born in Santa Rosa, California. She received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2002, and received her B.A. cum laude in English and History from Rice University in 1999.
In law school, Heather was a student attorney with the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic’s Employment Discrimination Project, where she represented indigent plaintiffs on a pro bono basis pursuing claims against their employers before the Illinois Commission on Human Rights.
After law school, Heather joined the Labor & Employment section of Baker Botts, LLP in Houston. As an associate at Baker Botts, Heather represented employers in a wide range of employment-related issues, including race, gender and national-origin discrimination, sexual harassment, ERISA and union arbitrations. Heather also represented clients in commercial litigation involving complex contract disputes.
