Mr. Upchurch received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Chicago Law School in 2000, and his B.A., summa cum laude, in history from the University of South Florida in 1996.
After law school, Scott joined the litigation section of Vinson & Elkins, LLP in Houston, Texas. He represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters as an associate at Vinson & Elkins for just over four years. Scott then started a his own firm, Bukowski & Upchurch, LLP, where he focused primarily on commercial litigation.
Scott currently represents plaintiffs and defendants in both commercial and personal injury litigation, as well as executive employment matters. He has experience representing parties in a numerous areas, including contract and business tort litigation, oil and gas and energy, products liability, mass torts, medical malpractice, premises liability, employment contracts and litigation, bankruptcy, and condemnation. Scott has handled cases in both state and federal courts, including highly complex federal multi-district litigation.
