Joseph Ahmad Secures Venue Transfer for National Oilfield Services Company in Multi-Million Dollar Suit
July 8, 2007

The firm has also been selected for high stakes litigation when accused of corporate fraud. When a leading oilfield services company was sued in a jurisdiction in which it did not conduct business by its former general counsel who claimed that the company engaged in widespread corporate fraud, breached his contract, and fiduciary duties to him, the firm was hired to represent the company. The firm immediately moved that the court transfer the proceedings on jurisdictional and venue grounds. After almost a year of briefing and arguments on the jurisdictional and venue issues, the court transferred the litigation to the company’s base of executive operations during the relevant timeframe. The attorneys working on this matter were Joseph Ahmad, Ariadne Montare, Scott Upchurch, Karen Brisch, Karen Peck and Heather Trachtenberg.
